The Nutritional Way to go From Sluggish to High Energy

Amber Jonas

If you feel like your "get up and go got up and went" there are several things you can do to boost your energy level from sluggish to high energy. Many of the reasons we begin to feel sluggish is because we need positive nutrition in our diet. If you feel you have been feeling a bit under the weather, here are several suggestions you might consider adding to your health regimen. Adding just one of the suggestions below will be a step toward changing your level of energy.

VITAMIN B12

A deficiency of vitamin B12 can lead to anemia and many other serious complications. It can cause tiredness and listlessness and other problems associated with energy loss. B 12 also helps maintain healthy nerve cells.

Sublingual B12 gives your body the vitamin B 12 nutrients it needs to naturally give you increased energy, mental clarity, and it reduces stress levels. You can add it to your overall vitamin regimen or you can eat B12 enriched foods, which include a variety of breakfast cereals. Other sources for Vitamin B12 are milk, eggs and cheese. Include Vitamin B12 to your diet and notice your energy level increase within days. Check your local pharmacy for B12 supplements.

ACAI BERRY

Acai Berry is a berry that packs a powerful punch. It is quoted as being one of the top 10 super foods for age-defying beauty. It is loaded with antioxidants, anthocyanins, (approximately 20 times the amount in red wine), amino acids, essential omegas, fibers and protein. Acai is proven to help fight aging and is a natural anti-inflammatory. The Acai Berry increases energy levels and improves mental clarity. It has many other healthful benefits. Find products containing ACAI BERRY as an ingredient. Health drinks that contain the Acai Berry as one of the active ingredients can be found in various locations. Check your local health food store for this product.

BEE POLLEN

Bee Pollen is considered one of "nature's most perfect foods". Bee pollen is taken extensively to combat allergies, but is also associated with increased energy and stamina and is taken widely by athletes. Bee pollen may also help reduce the effects of stress and aid in digestion. Check your local Health Food Stores or your local or online Pharmacy.

VITAMIN D

Vitamin D is essential for optimal health. Sunshine is a significant source of Vitamin D. The function of Vitamin D is to maintain normal blood levels of calcium and phosphorus. Vitamin D can be found in poultry, fish and dairy products

YERBA MATE

Yerba Mate is known to boost energy. It contains chemical elements of potassium, magnesium and manganese. Users of Yerba Mate report a mental state of alertness, wakefulness and better focus abilities. In addition to a boost in energy levels, Yerba Mate has been used as an effective appetite suppressant

In addition to the nutritional suggestions listed above, you must make sure to get the recommended amount of rest. If you drink beverage that contain caffeine, you should cut your caffeine intake, especially at night. Diet changes may be necessary in order for you to experience an overall increase in your energy level. Stock your refrigerator with fruit and vegetable juices. Take the time to fix healthy meals at home instead of rushing out to your local fast-food restaurants.

While you try different things to increase your energy level from the nutritional standpoint, implement a scheduled exercise routine to get you up and moving. You'll feel better once you start moving, eating healthier, and providing your body with the nutrients you may be missing.
